Biography

Shannon has returned to the practice of law after retiring as a Judge from the Hanover County Juvenile Domestic Relations District Court, where she served for thirteen years. During her tenure on the bench, Shannon held the roles of Chief Judge, Chair and Member of the Judicial Inquiry and Review Commission. Prior to her judicial career, Shannon served as the Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Newport News and County of Hanover, focusing on prosecuting violent crimes and complex narcotic offenses. She was also appointed a Special Assistant United States Attorney, handling cases in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and providing legal counsel to law enforcement members of the Violent Crimes Task Force.

Shannon is delighted to return to her roots as a trial attorney, dedicated to advocating for individuals in need of expert legal representation. As a member of McCaul Martin, PC, in Mechanicsville, Virginia, Shannon specializes in Criminal Law, including DUI and traffic offenses, protective order litigation, and Family Law matters such as custody, visitation, support, and divorce litigation. Offering over twenty-seven years of legal experience, Shannon has earned a reputation as a zealous and knowledgeable advocate for her clients.

Shannon graduated from Virginia Tech in 1994. She later attended the DePaul University College of Law, where she earned her J.D. in 1997. In 2005, Shannon returned to Hanover County where she was raised and continues to reside with her husband and two children.
